Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Mahavidyalaya was established in 2008; the Mahavidyalaya is located on the Mahur-Pusad road, 1.5 km away from Mahur Town. It is one of the first P.G. college in Mahar Taluka, with a long standing of 16 years. This Mahavidyalaya is located in a systematically developed campus of about 3.5 acres. The Mahavidyalaya imparts education in Arts, Commerce, Science, B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.C.A. to Undergraduate level, and M.Sc. (CS) to Postgraduate level. Initially, Mahavidyalaya started with 56 students and about 12 teaching and non-teaching staff members. Presently, the strength of Mahavidyalaya students is 385 with 20 teaching, administrative, and supporting staff members. The Mahavidyalaya teaching staff members are well qualified, efficient, experienced, and socially committed and accountable.

The Mahavidyalaya has constructed separate administrative and academic rooms with well-equipped departments in natural surroundings. The Mahavidyalaya provides deliberate attention to the research activities. The library of Mahavidyalaya is situated in the central part of building sorts of books. The outdoor games facilities and large play ground are available in Mahavidyalaya. Mahavidyalaya has a well-equipped computer and language laboratory for all students. Under the efficient and valuable guidance of Shri Kanhoba Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Madanapur, and all members of the Local Governing Council, this Mahavidyalaya is making progress in all fields.
